Update on York Coliseum
Almost completed with the Sod laying in now for it to get settled/mowed and painted!
Matchday 12 of the Shield brings Pool play to a close. A traditional Sunday Matinee is on tap as the Hosts battle their bitter Rival to the North(and last years host) Polaris. A lot of movement could happen with a win by York in this one game.

from Last night
The Quarterfinals are here!
As we dive into day 1 of the QFs 2 teams go home 2 advance. Some interesting matchups in these QFs Marceau v Lacroix Islands will likely be the biggest bore of the 4 but could hold some intrigue if Marceau looks past Lacroix. York v Inverness harkens back to the 70's when the 2 were at the top of their games. The host playing in the smaller confines of Yorkshire Coliseum will look for crowd noise to help out.(We'll look at the other 2 tonight)
Quarterfinal #1-Marceau v Lacroix Islands-15:00
Marceau ran it's way through the Pool A stage of competition will it continue on to the final? Lacroix has had a forgettable performance in the Shield thus far that can all change with one game.

Marceau Advances to meet up with the Winner of QF2 on the 19th from Yorkshire Coliseum in Semi-Final #2
Quarterfinal #2-York v Inverness-20:00
York made a late push to earn the Home slot in QF2 and looks to repeat what the hosts did last year. Inverness has made it's return look solid and looks to recapture the glory days and stun the host.
Gametime Weather:
Temp-23C(74F)

Inverness stuns the Hosts and will advance to take on Marceau on the 19th from Yorkshire Coliseum in Semi-Final#2
After the game the YPD reported minor Rioting near the area of the Coliseum as some Drunken Hooligans tried to attack Inverness fans as they all exited the Coliseum. 12 Arrests and 4 Sent to the Hospital from the Violence. 2 Cop Cars were damaged in the incident.

K50- Well RV's soccer passion is noted look at last year's shield some major problems, this year at the WC it wasn't nearly as bad as expected and for this years shield this being the first major incident not bad I'd have to say lol. and thanks teh Coliseum's pitch needed to be done and done quick as it hosts 1 Quarterfinal and both Semi-Final matches.
Speaking of Quarterfinals(I missed this post a couple days ago)
Quarterfinals Day 2
2 More teams go home today as we sort out the final four. Today we have 2 very huge matchups. Polaris and Northlands known as the "Northern Border War" whenever they meet some very heavy and fierce battles take place and when a chance to send your rival home it always elevates the play. In the other matchup Rorysville v Douglas Islands mean a rematch of many great Finals, Semi-Finals of the past decade. These two have met in 1 Shield Final and 5 Shield Semi-Finals as well as 5 Qualifier Cup Semi-Finals. In those 11 matches they are 8-3 for Rorysville but in Shield Finals Douglas Islands took that one on home soil.
Quarterfinal #4-Northlands v Polaris-15:00
Northlands and Polaris cruised to their positions all through the prelims into a clash course for the "Northern Border War".
Gametime Weather:
Temp-27C(80F)

Polaris takes it 4-3 in a Shootout to advance to Yorkshire Coliseum on August 19th to face the Winner of RV v DI.
Quarterfinal #3-Rorysville v Douglas Islands-20:00
Another Shield another battle between these two foes. Rorysville Dominant through this shield looking to continue with their dominance. On the other side the Douglas Islands have been disappointing through the shield unable to hold onto leads and going without a single win all that could be redeemed by beating Rorysville

Rorysville scores at the 118th Minute to end the game and advances to take on Polaris in the Semi-Finals on August 19th from Yorkshire Coliseum.

Semi-Finals Day 1!
As we enter the final four the intensity goes up so does the pressure. For the two that lose you go home empty handed. For the two that win you still get a chance at the Shield. For Rorysville a sixth straight birth in the finals and a chance to three peat. For Polaris a second straight birth in the finals and a chance at validation as many thought it was a fluke last year. The two meeting in Semi-Final #1 met last year in the Shield Prelim Round RV Won that meeting 4-1 they would meet again just 2 weeks later in the final with Rorysville winning that one 4-1 as well they are building a rivalry of sorts. These two met twice in the Qualification Groupings with Rorysville winning 3-1 at Veterans Stadium on March 12th and the two fighting to a draw 1-1 at Polaris Energy Stadium on April 16th on May 29th the two met again at National Stadium for the Qualifier Cup Final with Rorysville winning that one 3-1.

K50-Yeah kinda a shocker eh? In all reality the Shield has always been known for the upset or two this years was no exception to that trend. The thing about RV State is they never rebuild they just re-load expect another big year next year seeing that the Tourney is in RV State.
mayor-Thanks!
Semi-Finals Day 2
One team has it's ticket punched for the Final the other has it's to go home. As the world woke up to the shocker of Rorysville's upset at the hands of Polaris we now turn to the 2 remaining teams in the final four. Marceau and Inverness are looking for their oppertunity to make the shield final. For Marceau it's a chance to claim their first shield since winning it on home soil in 2005. Inverness is looking to make their return to the shield one to behold. If Inverness knocks off Marceau that will make the first time in 32 years both #1 seeds failed to make the Final.

Throughout the ages one day in the summer is looked forward to more than any other day. The Shield final causes the RBL and RFL to shut down for the day the entire nation tunes in. Some of the greatest moments in Rorysville sport history have happened in the final. From the 1974 Donaldson Goal versus Marceau to come back and win the Shield to the Leclrec Goal in 2002 to beat Rorysville. Some of the best and brightest moments in history.
Pregame Festivities
Smashing Pumpkins performed during the Opening Ceremonies of the game
Folowed by the 12th York Highlanders performing the National Anthem as the roof opened.
As the highlanders wrapped up the anthem a Flyover of 4 RVDF-22's screamed overhead.
As Marceau prepares to face off against Polaris let's look at the history of these 2 in the finals. in 1986 Marceau and Polaris faced off in Yorkshire Coliseum for the 20th Shield Final. Polaris would take that match up 3-0. In 2001 in the 35th Shield Final the two would meet again from Inverness at Trident Field/ Polaris would again take that meeting 2-0. Now is the third time a charm for Marceau or is it a Hat trick for Polaris.

Re: Rorysville
An actual non sports CJ POST(ok there may be a sports team or 2 in here lol)
Some of you may wonder just how do you beat the heat in Rorysville? Well many in the City flee to North Point and Bayside to beat the heat.
George Bay offers RVC a great northern Retreat with beaches and boardwalks.
The Marina Strip/Boardwalk runs along Baysides Waterfront giving plenty of great spots to enjoy the salt air.
This Marina is RVC's largest and is also one of the busiest.
Bayside Boardwalk is a great stretch along the waterfront to enjoy Funnel cakes or Crab cakes, along with many other delicacies.
Also shown is a recreation of the RNS Vengeance that fought for RV's Independance against the Royal Navy.
As we round to the inlet of the George River we see more great ways to beat the summer heat.
GOTRansit Field home of the Bayshore Breakers of the Core Baseball League(AAA)-the top Affiliate of the Borderline Biscuits
and Vengeance Field home to Bayside 1972 FC of the RPL DIV II
Driving across the Bridge and through North Point then up the Hook
You start passing RVC's greatest Beaches and the largest National Park in RV State
Where you end up at the Tip of the Hook looking at the Skyline of RVC and out to sea
Cheers!

Re: Rorysville
so I missed the post on Game 5's lol well we are into the League Semi-Final Series game 4
all 4 games here you go from yesterday
first up from North Polaris
North Polaris's old town section is alive with Admiral postseason Baseball
Series Tied at 2-2
now onto Yorkshire Island
Willets Point Stadium is one the best venues to catch playoff action especially if the A's are rolling
Yorkshire Island leads the Series 3-1
and we continue on to Dorval
Tiger Stadium rocking through the early evening as downtown Dorval is party central for the playoffs.
Series tied at 2-2
and finally we end up the Night in Rorysville City
This series is drawing record crowds and both teams have had to move to larger venues for their home games.
