Re: Yorke 2010 - Dare to Dream
Word has just come through that if the bid is successful the Opening Ceremony will be covered live on Yorke's 101.9 YFM. There will also be daily wrap-ups of events.
Links to the MP3s will be posted on this forum.
The ASC is still deciding whether to put it out in the form of a podcast.

I'm happy with it. The old stadium was a bit... ho hum. Also, my attempt at making a velodrome was a dismal failure.

Re: Yorke 2010 - Dare to Dream
The broadcasting rights have been allocated. Arcacian Television (ATV) Channel 3 has successfully bid for Simlympic coverage through to 2020.
Bay FM in Yorke will have daily competition wrap-ups, as well as broadcasting the audio from the Opening Ceremony. The Opening Ceremony will be available as an MP3 download.

Re: Yorke 2010 - Dare to Dream
That's slightly complicated. I will be doing the commentary and English in-stadium announcements. A friend of mine will be doing the French in-stadium announcements.
I have some audio software that I will use to change the sound of my voice slightly.
I'm currently putting the opening ceremony together. I expect it will run for about an hour and a half.
The only time I will be speaking as myself, rather than a character, will be when I declare the Games open.
However, what I do need (if the bid is successful) is for the ISC President to record a short speech (2 minutes) that I can put in. I also need his name (or a pseudonym) so that the announcer can introduce him.
I'm still deciding whether to do the closing ceremony as well. Given the nature of the software, it is actually a lot of work to get it sounding right and I may not have time to put a closing ceremony together.
Also, I don't don how available my friend will be. We're yet to set a day aside to record his part of the audio. It is vitally important that I have a complete list of competing countries before that happens. I have copy/pasted the list that is on this forum, but if there are any late sign-ups, they may not be able to be recorded, or may only be recorded in English.

Re: Yorke 2010 - Dare to Dream
LOL It's soooooo much work. If I waited until the winner was announced there's no way it would be ready in time.
Not to blow my own horn, but it's gonna be fantastic. *picks up own horn and blows*

Re: Yorke 2010 - Dare to Dream
Unfortunately not. You'll have to use your imagination!
What I'm hoping to do is post the link to the MP3 the day of the Opening Ceremony. It starts at 8pm, but I'll have the times for international listeners. Download it and at precisely 7:57pm, or whatever :57 it happens to be where you are, press play. We'll all listen together and will be as good as a live broadcast.
