Re: Racing News
MICHAEL WALTRIP WON THE TRUCK RACE!!!! On the 10th anniversary of the 2011 Daytona 500, *crying* thats amazing!
Re: Racing News
ummmm you mean the 10th anniversary of the 2001 race? cause the 10th anniversary would be 2021
Re: Racing News
I almost remember that 2001 race... as for last nights truck race, I wrote a paragraph of fragments of just coincidences. I'm not even sure how many there were but I beleve now, if I didn't before I believe now. You don't just get that many coincidences.

Re: Racing News
so how bout that new nascar game huh? I like it when you go straight and such but It doesn't support my wheel well and when you are going in a staright line.... for the wall... the damage isn't that great... plus no dnfs... overall I like Nascar 09 better but maybe next years will be better.

Re: Racing News
must agree, probably not, I wish I could get nascar racing 03, I hear its the best ever and if i base it off 02, I would agree (the one by papyrus, not ea)

Re: Racing News
I heard about that actually and really can't wait till all these big name series start running there... oddly enough there haven't been any confirmed domestic series confirmed to run there that I know of
Also, onto cup, my picks for all the rest of the season:

Loudan: Bowyer
Indy: Stewert
Pocono: Stewert
Glen: Ambrose
Michigan: Edwards
Bristol: Stewert
Atlanta: Menard
Richmond: Kyle Busch
Chicago: Harvick
Loudon: Bowyer
Dover: Dale Jr.
Kansas: Biffle
Charlotte: Martin will get his last career win
Dega: Dale Jr.
Martinsville: Gordon/Johnson
Texas: Cousin Carl
Phoenix: someone you weren't expecting because of the new reconfigured layout they'll have done by then.
Homestead: a Roush Fenway car
Championship:
- Spoiler:
- Johnson and Hamlin will continue to have a slightly off year while Edwards snatches his first career title despite heavy competition from Gordon and Harvick.
Chase predictions:
First, despite his win, Kesolowski will NOT make the chase under any scenario, first I predict he won't be in the top 20 in time, second, he just won't make it off they tiebreak
Wildcards:
Bowyer
Ragan/Menard/Logano (whoever is higher in points if thats how they break the tie.)
Newman won't make it in this year, he'll end up about 12th, Jr. might but thats gonna be close, he will end up with 2 wins before they go to Vegas for the Banquet though.
Re: Racing News
I honestly am because I can't wait to see cup on a new track... strange proposition... NASCAR at the new F1 track... have it replace the August Michigan race and then switch it with Dover.

ummm why the Michigan one? you do realise that does well with attendance and is close to the test facilities of Toyota,Chevy,Ford,GM,Chrysler just to name a few?
usualy I stay outta NASCAR discussions but curiousity as to why out of the schedule you'd pick that one
Re: Racing News
I may have been wrong but I thought attendence was waining some. There are some races I dislike anyway and michigan is one, all factors aside besides the action on track, Toledo speedway might be better because you could have the Detroit AND Cleveland markets better but there's only like 5,000 seats there if anyone saw the 2008 arca finale that was a good one at Toledo. Pocono was the other one I was thinking of too though to go with it but I (because i'm the freak that has to be different) actually like Pocono.
Re: Racing News
See the attendance wained slightly for one factor alone(ECONOMY) that race actually drives a decent economy for that portion of Michigan and Cleveland wouldn't come West lol. that and mixing Ohio and Michigan is never a good thing
Re: Racing News
Yeah and with the automotive industry, John Rich probably said it Best
Suprised nascar hasn't gone towards the Ohio market or really looked at it based off the failed track pages at Jayski besides the Indoor Track. Seems like untapped potential to me.

Ohio really only cares about 1 thing really-Football
Hockey struggles there(and you'd think it'd do well)
Baseball does ok
Basketball does ok
Soccer does ok
All else really never seems to work there
Re: Racing News
Mid-Ohio does pretty well for road racing's status in the US with Grand-Am and ALMS, plus the old Cleveland Airport Champ Car Race, one of the best tickets on the calender.
Re: Racing News
I went to the Quaker State 400 (Kentucky), what a great race that was, although the traffic was bad, hopefully they'll fix that.
Re: Racing News
Doesn't suprise me, multiply the population of a town by about 1,000 and you'll probably have some... well my prediction was off, but it was another Gibbs car, and if it had been the Quaker State 402 instead, we'd be talking about Reuti's 3rd Career Win instead of Shrub's 20th or so. Can't believe Jimmie thought Reuti was passing him coming to the White, not the Checkered It'll also be good when they get the airport built that Bruton's wanting. Also, Glad you had fun Wacky
Re: Racing News
Yeah, the track officials said they are planning on making improvments with the transportation. It was a great race. I had no idea Burton wanted to build an airport in Sparta, that would be nice.
Re: Racing News
He was on Trackside or Raceday one, and said he was pushing the Governor to build one near the track and how it would boost the economy in the area.
Re: Racing News
That's a good thing maybe build some hotels and restraunts around the track so that fans have a place to hang before and after the races. That area will grow over the next few years, the transportation and parking around the track needs to be improved but I already cant wait for next years race.
Re: Racing News
Hope they find somewhere for Iowa Speedway, it'd be a good track, and it's got the Iowa market.
