Traditionally Insulo's Cuisine is based around seafood. The plentiful waters around the island provide a wide variety of fish and shellfish. Most are prepared in either Spanish or Scandinavian fashion, depending on what part of the island you live on. Spanish paellas, tapas, and other dishes are extremely popular on the predominantly European eastern section of the island, which was originally colonized by the Spanish. Although the vikings first arrived on the eastern tip of the island, they explored west before a storm forced them to anchor they're ship, and establish a village on the island. So now the northwestern section of the island is mostly Scandinavian, and the cuisine of these first arrivals to the island is still the most popular there. Now, central and eastern Insulo have seen a massive influx of cultures from all around the Atlantic region, resulting in the cuisine in the region to be extremely mixed, with everything from pizza to tajine being available in all but the smallest villages.

Ainkien makes the most of the fresh tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and herbs available this time of year in the northern hemisphere. So a Pizza Maguerita would be perfect for a cookout, with sweet fresh tomatoes, spicy basil on a fresh crust grilled over an open fire. Grilled meats (steak, chicken, sausages), fish (salmon, shrimp, tuna) and paella are popular too.

Ainkien also has its share of vineyards, both in the mainland and on the Nalsa Islands.

I'm a New Yorker by Native and True Blood. But I have to admit... Embarassed Chicago has the best pizza.
