Re: Sim Sports League of Rugby (Weeks 1-3)
The admins don't get involved in leagues like that, its just some either don't or don't wish to have a board. SWSCRA isn't planning on getting a simsports board. I'll signup here in a little after I get some homework and crap done.

City Name: Riverbourne/Attica Bay
Team Nickname: Acutally the entire name is "Riverbourne RFC
Picture of city and stadium
Logo: Its a capital R
Primary team colour: Navy Blue
Secondary team colour: Bridgeish Green
Third Team Colour: White
The colors are the same as those on the flag:
Riverbourne and Attica Bay metropolitan Area.
Attica Bay is "in development." If I ever get back to playing it'll probably be 30-40k people.
Flight Stadium, where Riverbourne RFC will call home, which also doubles every saturday night as a 1/3 mile local stock car racing track:

Re: Sim Sports League of Rugby (Weeks 1-3)
Sooo, if I'm not mistaken, a rugby stadium is identical to a football (soccer) stadium?

Re: Sim Sports League of Rugby (Weeks 1-3)
Today, the fledgling league of the SSLR gained its first two official franchises, marking a significant step in the direction of becoming a major, established league. One of these franchises is the Linktoria City Lions, from the country of Linktoria. The mayor of Linktoria City had this to say; "I'm extremely happy that yet another league has set up a sports franchise within our fair city. The citizens of the city have long asked for a team to fulfil their love of the sport of Rugby, and now they have a major team to vent their emotion into." The other team, Riverbourne RFC, were awarded a franchise, a relative surprise many believing that the city of New Mistley was the prime candidate for a club. The league has stated the intention of adding many more franchises to compete with these exciting teams with the inaugural season coming soon.

Re: Sim Sports League of Rugby (Weeks 1-3)
Well if we can have two: (this is actually in another country I have called stone but whatever )
City Name: Stone City
Team Nickname: full name "RFC Airships"
Picture of city and stadium and Logo: see below
Primary team colour: Right Wing Stoneish Gray
Secondary team colour: Gold
Third Team Colour: Left wing stoneish gray
These colors are the same ones in my avatar, Right wing is the lower gray, left wing is the one on top.
As a note, Airships is a large sporting club, also fielding a domestic Stoneish soccer team, an SLB team and many other domestic club teams. The team came from my original stone city but when I redid stone city I kept that team. They were originally right across from the airport.
Downtown NEW stone city. Up near the top is Stoneish National Stadium, also home of the Sim Rugby World Cup September 2010 edition held by Stone.
Also i'd be interested in hosting an allstar game or championship game if your bidding for that.

Re: Sim Sports League of Rugby (Weeks 1-3)
Thanks Canuck, I'll start putting the teams on the OP
Today the SSLR revealed the format of the league for the upcoming which, as far has 6 teams. The format released is thus; Each team shall play each other twice, one home and once away every Saturday/Sunday with the odd exception of mid-week games. The top two teams after all teams have played will qualify for the divisional round of the play-off's, with the winner going through to the final. The team that lost will then play the third placed team in the wild card round. The winner will go through to the final, where they'll play the victor of the divisional round. The winner of this game wins the coveted Tri-Star Cup. The SSLR is considering taking bids to host the final of the cup, and asks the opinions of the members to see if they would be interested in one of their teams hosting the event. Running along side the league their will be the Race for the Shield. This is a knockout cup, wherein every team attempts to progress to the next round and eventually the final of the Supporters Shield. Also announced was the date of the first game of the season. The date given is March 19th 2011. Any franchises entered after this time will not be able to compete until the next season, the league announced.

Re: Sim Sports League of Rugby (Weeks 1-3)
SSLR Week 1 Round-Up
So the results are in and what a turbulent week its been, the stand out game being between two teams who, early on look like contenders. RFC Airships and the Western Marceau Magpies (referred to as the magpies from now on!) played out a thriller at the Stoneish National Stadium. The game was tight the whole way through, with Airships leading until, 3 minutes from time Magpies Right Winger Oskar Von Schmitt broke through the defence for an enfatic try which was coolly converted to allow magpies to clinch the game. Despite the disappointment, Airships will be consolidated with an extra point. Here's how the table stands:
So, Kalama are at the top and Sonic City at the bottom, but there's still plenty of time to play, and the table may change dramatically next week, especially as Riverbourne are yet to play. In other news, the draw has been made for the first round of the Supporters Shield. Three randomly selected teams, Linktoria City Lions, The Magpies and The Freeport Moose have been given byes to the next round. The two highest scoring losers of the first round will play a game to decide who is the eighth team in round 2. The Fixtures are:
Dawson Blizzard Vs. RFC Airships
RBV United Vs. Algona Grizzlies
Rorysville Highlanders Vs. Kalama RFC
Riverbourne City RFC Vs. Sonic City RFC
These matches will be played out on Wednesday with the draw for Round 2 being made directly after the games. Thanks for visiting and see you all on Wednesday for Round 1 of the Supporters Shield.
