Torch Relay - Day 28 - Lower Columbia
It might not be the 13th here in California yet, but across the world, it's time for another leg of the relay!
Today the Simlympic torch passes through Nyhaven, Lower Columbia, the city that hosted the June 2007 Simlympics. Let's take a look at the route it will take through the city. The satellite image below points out the locations of each of the following pictures.
This morning, the torch arrived in downtown Nyhaven at the historic Fourth Street docks. Today is one of those typical Pacific Northwest days - cloudy. That won't affect the torch relay, however, since it is not forecast to rain.
Thousands of Nyhaveners have come out to see the relay. The crowds were especially thick on Fifth Street, where the first leg of the relay took place.
The crowds thinned out a little as the torch passed through the University of Nyhaven, but there was still a strong showing.
Community leaders in Koreatown were thrilled to have their neighborhood included in the relay. Local residents came out in droves to cheer the torch onward.
At the Sporthaven athletic development, the torch got into a car to head for the relay's final leg.
Nowhere along the relay were the crowds thicker than at the epicenter of the June 2007 Simlympics - Puget Island Athletics Park. People practically climbed over one another to see the old Simlympic cauldron re-lit, and when it was, they all erupted in cheers. As in other cities, the cauldron will remain lit for the duration of the Ylmeria Simlympics.

Fantastic update woodb3k . It's great to see some more of Nyhaven again, it's been a while! I like the fashion of keeping past torches lit too, very cool .
