Sports Hub to get a makeover Empty Sports Hub to get a makeover

Post by Aranho Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:55 pm

Sports Hub, the area for the April Simlympics, will be having an extreme makeover. Here are the changes that will be made (in order):

Agenda 1) Security Checkpoints to be cut down
Agenda 2) Parking Lots to be demolished and be placed underground instead
Agenda 3) Roads and pavements to be torn
Agenda 4) Secondary Soccer Stadium to be demolished
Agenda 5) Mall and Food Court to be demolished and relocated elsewhere
Agenda 6) Hotel Row to be torn down to make way for newer hotels
Agenda 7) Tram System to be built

The makeover will ensure that there will be more space between the venues.

The total makeover is expected to be completed in one week time.

So far, Agenda 1, 2 and 3 have been completed. Agenda 4 is half way done. Agenda 5, 6 and 7 will begin soon once the debris have been removed.

A bid changing around its venues after elected, this will make it the most realistic simlympics yet. Smile

A bid changing around its venues after elected, this will make it the most realistic simlympics yet.

You mean other real world winning bids also did that?

Btw, all venues at the Sports Hub will be shifting position, meaning that all infrastructures, stadiums and arenas will be shifted.

Every bid does it after winning. Look at Beijing, they did it with quite a few venues I recall. The Birds Nest was not conceived till well after Beijing won the games. The orginal stadium that was to host athletics and ceremonys was Guangdong Olympic Stadium, built in 2001. Even London has changed there main stadium from what it was in the bid.

Progress in the Sports Hub is very swift and quick (the Sports Hub is busy 24/7 with three different shifts non-stop) that agenda 1 to 6 has been completed.

With the recent news that a minor fire broke out along the Tram System ground tracks at the Embassy Strip Tram System, the Government have shelved all tram system blueprints across the nation, which also includes the Sports Hub Tram System. Therefore, Agenda 7 is off the list.

Currently, the newly refurbished Sports Hub is undergoing a massive test run to check on certain stuffs such as power test, water test and more.

Here is a picture of the new Sports Hub plus two additional venues:

yeah when placing GLR stations you have to do that ahead of time what you can do is delete the GLR tracks where your placing the station then carefully place the station and you should be fine

I always do that when I heard this advice somewhere in simtrop. I place those stations first, then the tracks, but it still crash.

I must have done something wrong.
