OK so, I am working on probably the season finale of Destination: Petrova. And It will be a special "behind the bid" bogisode so hopefully I can post it up in an hour or two. This blogisode will be kind of an explanation of the bid. And yes, there will stil be a language/culture/grammar 101 .

I am Gregh Ovski, your host for tonight and welcome back to the season finale of Destination: Petrova! We are right now at the Grevershki Grande Hall with a live audience. As you all know, last night, King Dmitry and Prince Matthias has unraveled the bid and submitted it to Simsports.

This is a “Behind the Bid” special. And so let’s bring in our guest, the Minister of Tourism, also known as the head Petrovar Ambassador, Petr Reyes!

(applause)
Gre: So, how are you today?

PA: Exhausted.

Gre: Well, you must be, after working on that bid. (laughs). So tell me, who made this bid happen?

PA: Well, Gregh, everyone made this bid happened, not just the officials. It’s the king, the dauphin, the ministers and even this very crowd right here.(crowd applauses)

Gre: Wow. You mean even I helped?? Ok, so do you mind explaining the video presentation last night?

PA: Hmm, where do I start? It was our original plan to do the first video, but as we saw from the our competitors, we lacked to show our audience at Simsports pictures of our country. They were all just about the venues. So we did a promotional video along with the main video. The song in the main video was “Sochi, Vilmni” by Yisha Bera, our popular singer here in Chihiro.

Gre: What about the introduction? No offense to the king, but why did the dauphin do the intro? Is it because he is to be crowned king next month?

PA: Of course, yea, if Chihiro wins, then it will no longer be in King Dmitry’s hands on what goes on. But to tell you the truth, there has been problems going on in the Royal Palais lately. Prince Igor could be king next month.(crowd gasps and boos).

Gre: Why?

PA: Prince Matthias has become very obsessive with the Simlympics and he will never forgive himself if it comes to the case where we don’t win. (crowd gasps)

Gre: Wow. Now the people mentioned in the bid: Leona Lewis, Journey, Cirque de Soleil, Spielberg and everyone else, are they really going to be in Chihiro?

PA: Definitely. We want to boost our tourism and our city spirit. We also want to thank all our citizens so this is our gift to them. And this is will be a bonus too if Chihiro wins.

Greg: I can’t wait to see Amr Diab. Leally leally leally leally leally (sings tune, crowd laughs) haha. Well are there any questions from the crowd?

Person 1: Mr. Reyes, who is the president of the CSC (Chihiro Simlympic Committee)?

PA: As of now, it is the Minister of Athletics, but as the weeks progress, the king will appoint a president.

Person 2: I live in Brytyavksa, do think that it has the potential to be a Simlympic city?

PA: Maybe, we’ll see, with the additional events added, we might need another city. But currently we are discussing whether Brytyavska or Bovino will be added. I am sorry, but I am really in a tight schedule. I have to go to Japan to discuss energy problems.

Gre: Well, Mr. Ambassador ahaha, we wish you luck to your trip to Japan hiiiii-aaaa ahaha.(crowd laughs). Grammar of the week:
There are only two ways to talk about yourself singularly. "I" is "aku" and "me" is "ako". To talk about your possession, then "my" is "ake".

Culture 101:
Festivals are a part of the Petrovan lifestyle. Each town or city has their own special and unique festival at different dates. Petrovan holidays are very similar to western holidays. But a couple of Russian holidays are observed as well.

City Update:

All the roads, avenues and highways in Chihiro has been paved and changed to asphalt in preparation for the bid.

Royal Palais Update

In preperation for the upcoming coronation of Prince Mathias in November, the Royal Palais has been extensively renovated.
This is before the renovation:


During his childhood, Prince Mathias was sent away to Paris to study. Then he went to Moscow to finish his education. He graduated from the Collège de Sorbonne (University of Paris) in 2000. As a gift from his father, Prince Mathias has been allowed to renovate the Royal Palais. It began January of last year and has been completed this July. The new Royal Palace of Petrova costed approximately 370 million Petrovars.

Hey guys, I need your help on my city.


Above is a hotel complex along the Greenleaf Canal in Chihiro. I don't know what to use it as. I already have a Simlympic Village, Media Village and the Ambassador's Village. If you have any ideas, please reply below. Please and thank you!

mmmm.... a student's campus....or a sort of 'city of Healt' which brings together hospitals and homes for the sick and their relatives, and the royal palace looks really better now

or a hotel for visitors as it is a Hotel complex

A students campus...the university is kinda far away, so i can't do that, but i probably make a student campus near the university.

A health complex...great idea, but there's already the Deshkali Health Centre in Downtown Chihiro.

A hotel for visitors...well, I guess for now it could be a hotel complex, but there are a lot of hotels throughout the city already. However, the International Village is not too far from the hotels, so that could be a great idea.

Update: Coronation

Prince Matthias's coronation is to be held next month in the capital. There have been many things done for the preparation such as the huge renovation of the Royal Palace and the city being rid of King Dmitry's name as King. The coronation will take place in the newly built Grapotsch Palace with an estimated cost of 51 million. Here is the venue that will the coronation will take place. This is the opening and was open to the public.

Even though Prince Matthias still hasn't been crowned King of Petrova, he has demanded that changes come about the country. He started off with the national image: the flag.

He changed the colors to match the colors on his coat of arms. The reason why he changed the flag is that "it was plain boring, we need something bright to represent our future."

Petrova's music has been influenced by Russian classical and polka music so the Prince wanted to bring in the western european techno music.

All to come by this Saturday

This was written on December 2, 1975 declaring Petrova an independent nation. It was written by the Petrovan Council in Avenida Vista, which used to be southern Russia's largest city before Petrova ceded. Even though it was only about thirty years ago, the language used back then was Russian and the dialect was mixed Petrovan-Russian. The sentences used don't really make any sense now, because nobody speaks like that anymore, but it basically calls for the independence of Petrova and says how it is a free country.

Miss SimUniverse 2008

Chihiro is hosting the first Miss SimUniverse in December. Ever since my gf made me watch the show with her, I liked it especially the swimsuit So I decided to be like Donald Trump and bring MU to sim city!
And even though its in December, I am posting the available delegates because I know that hardly anyone goes here to the CJ, so I am allowing for a month for you guys to choose. All you have to do is choose is girl to represent your country and they will compete to win the crown. And of course I will randomly pick the winner, so there's no favorites lol. There will be the top 10 that goes on to the swimsuit competition and the top 6 that goes on to the evening gown.



Any country is free to be in the MSU, but there's a limit of only 15. In the picture above are 15 gorgeous ladies from various MU competitions from 2000-2008. If you dont like any one from above, then feel free to pick another girl, just as long as they go on to do the swimsuit and evening gown in the real MU. The only one you can't pick is the first one, Zana Krasniqi(Kosovo 2008), because she will be Miss Petrova 2008 lol.
