April 24 ... Michael Hale and Bill Smith of the New Edinburgh Red Coats could be headed for the disabled list after colliding in the field during today's game against the Belfont Captains. Smith suffered a broken nose and in expected to be out for 4 weeks, while Hale fractured his cheekbone and is expected to miss at least 5 months. The injury overshadowed Smith extending his hit streak to 20 with a two-run homer...
April 25 ... Fortuna first baseman Ralph Hansen was ejected from today's game between the Grizzlies and Industrialists for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Hansen was incensed in the loss to Greenville and was just as angry after the game, saying "...these guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" The league has suspended Hansen for 3 games for the outburst...

Piscataway first baseman John White put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days to collect the Roberto Clemente League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 11 hits in 28 at-bats, 5 home runs and 7 RBIs last week in 7 games. On the season, White is batting .250 with 11 home runs and 20 RBIs in 24 games...
Guillermo Méndez, the Jenress first baseman, swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Jackie Robinson League Player of the Week honours. Méndez piled up 14 hits in 32 at-bats, 2 home runs and 8 RBIs while hitting .438. For 2010 Méndez is hitting .302 with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
The Luxembourg Rivercats continued their remarkable start to the season, going unbeaten during the week to stretch their league-best record to 22-2. Canmore continue to lead the JRL with a 18-6 record, with North Brabant and Bristol improving to 17-7.

Oh boy April 19th was an intense game. Randy DeLong got suspended for 4 games. He's always had an ego trip LOL. I love the report though.

For that, the man in blue gave him the thumb and sent him to an early shower. But the disgruntled Ishikawa lingered on the field for another five minutes berating the umpire before his manager got him off the field. It got worse after the game, when Ishikawa told reporters, "He was blind today. They played 'Three Blind Mice' for him. If he doesn't know the words to the song, I'm sure we can get it in braille, so he can follow along." For all of his escapades and after-the-game oration, the league office suspended Ishikawa for 6 games...
May 17 ... Behind the strong pitching of Robin Murphy, Delphi shut out Animaltown 7-0. Murphy surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory. He registered 6 strikeouts and no walks.
May 18 ... The Rorysville Railcats have finalised a deal with the Lanaya City Monarchs for the services of 18-year old reliever Kantaro Masuda and 21-year old right fielder Rich Conway. In exchange, the Monarchs will receive 26-year old reliever Takafumi Kamida...

Hopefully the Trade will help the Railcats their attendance has been dropping as their performance drops and some news stories in RV have been saying that unless they do well they may be relocated out of RVC to a market where they could have a solid fanbase.
